The Economic Improvement of poor families through commercial vegetable production and pickle processing project of Community Women Development Centre, Rajbiraj, Saptari focuses on enhancing livelihood opportunities for marginalized and economically vulnerable households by promoting sustainable, income‑generating agricultural practices. This initiative aims to empower poor families especially women through commercial vegetable farming, improved crop management, organic production techniques, and small‑scale agro‑processing activities such as pickle making. By providing training, access to quality seeds, technical support, and market linkages, the project strengthens local capacity to produce high‑value vegetables, increase annual harvests, and add value through processing and preservation. The intervention also focuses on efficient water management, use of organic fertilizers, and environmentally friendly cultivation methods to ensure long‑term agricultural sustainability. Through skill development, group mobilization, and support for establishing micro‑enterprises, the program promotes economic self‑reliance among disadvantaged families. With a 24‑month implementation period, the project is expected to create stable income opportunities, strengthen women’s leadership in agriculture, expand local agro‑industries, and contribute to overall community development by enabling poor households to transition from subsistence farming to profitable, market‑oriented vegetable production and pickle processing.
