Sana Kisan Krishi Sahakari Ltd.

Sanakishan Krishi Sahakari Sanstha is a community-based agricultural cooperative institution located in Barahathawa Ward No. 3. Since its establishment, the cooperative has been actively engaged in supporting local farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture, and enhancing the livelihoods of marginalized groups within the community.

Currently, the cooperative has received a grant support from DGM Nepal, through which it has initiated collaborative agricultural activities with the women’s community group of Hariwan Ward No. 8 in Sarlahi District. Under this initiative, the cooperative has been undertaking moringa plantation, along with the cultivation of other valuable and climate-resilient crops. The women’s group comprises 11 dedicated female members, who are actively involved in all stages of the agricultural and plantation activities. In addition, the male members of their households also contribute voluntarily, especially during tasks requiring additional labor support.

As part of the project, the cooperative has recently established a Moringa Dry Center, which will be utilized for drying moringa leaves and producing high-quality moringa leaf powder. This facility is expected to support value addition, enhance product quality, and create local income-generating opportunities. The cooperative aims to strengthen the moringa value chain by improving processing, packaging, and marketing capacities in the coming years.

Looking ahead, Sanakishan Krishi Sahakari Sanstha plans to collaborate with various governmental and non-governmental agencies to mobilize additional financial and technical support. The cooperative aspires to implement programs focused on skill development, income generation, entrepreneurship promotion, and employment creation for women, youth, and other community members. Through these efforts, the cooperative aims to promote sustainable economic development, uplift the livelihoods of local households, and empower rural women through active participation in agricultural and processing activities.
