The Eco‑Friendly Reverbed Farming Project of Shree Manbhawan Krishi Sahakari Sanstha Ltd., Mahadeva Rural Municipality‑2, Saptari, aims to promote sustainable, climate‑resilient agriculture by integrating eco‑friendly farming practices, soil and water conservation, and community-based agroforestry. Through the adoption of reverbed land structures, organic soil management, rainwater harvesting, and micro‑irrigation systems, the project seeks to reduce soil erosion, enhance groundwater recharge, improve soil fertility, and increase land productivity. The initiative includes plantation of fruit-bearing, timber, medicinal, and shade-providing species to enhance biodiversity while creating long-term economic opportunities for farmers. It actively engages indigenous communities, women, and youth in capacity building, nursery development, organic input preparation, and green-based enterprises, strengthening local ownership and resilience. With a 12‑month implementation period supported by DGM Nepal, the program is expected to foster environmental restoration, promote traditional ecological knowledge, improve livelihoods, and establish a model of cooperative-led, eco-friendly, and climate-smart agriculture for future generations.
