Arkhottdi Magar Bheja is a traditional group of the Magar community based in Tianu-1, Palpa. The group consists of 1 man and 25 women who are actively involved in producing a variety of attractive Thakal handicrafts, including hats, bags, purses, flower vases, and more, with the support of a small grant from DGM Nepal. This sub-project aims to enhance income generation by utilizing locally available waste materials, while also engaging local women productively during their leisure time. Through this initiative, the group not only preserves traditional craft techniques but also promotes economic empowerment and skill development among women in the community.
Balihang Magar Bheja is a traditional group belonging to the Magar community of Rainadevichhahara-6, Palpa, working together to preserve the customs and practices of the Magar people. They have received a competitive small grant from DGM Nepal to continue producing traditional daily-use bamboo products such as baskets, winnowing trays (Supo/Nanglo), Doko, and more. Balihang Magar Bheja also acts as a bridge between local producers and the market, facilitating the sale of their products either by purchasing directly from them or by linking them to local trade fairs.
With the aim of preserving the traditions of indigenous communities and promoting income generation for women, NEFIN Palpa has initiated a Marcha (traditional yeast) production project at the Bagnashkaali sub-project. This initiative is supported by a small grant from DGM Nepal. The project enables local women to utilize their traditional knowledge and skills to produce Marcha, thereby contributing to cultural preservation, economic empowerment, and community development in the region.
Parameshwor Krishi Tatha Chyau Farm is a sole proprietorship enterprise located in Sainamaina-4, Rupandehi. The farm produces a substantial quantity of mushrooms seasonally and provides local employment to needy people from the Tharu community.

Thakal bag and hat production is being operated by Kanung Cooperative in Rupandehi, involving 14 indigenous (Magar) women since last year, with small grant support from DGM Nepal. This enterprise was established to generate income by utilizing a waste grass species known as Thakal (Phoenix genus).

Nayapaila Cooperative is a local cooperative situated in Sunawal-8, Nawalparasi West, which has established a biomanure and biochar production facility using waste grass available in their community forest. This initiative helps reduce the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture. The project aims to contribute to sustainable forest management and environmental conservation by promoting the use of bio-compost manure in farmers’ fields. Surrounding indigenous and local communities will benefit from this sub-project in the future.
Didibahini Tapari Udhyog is an enterprise initiated with sole proprietorship of shanti Pun Shris dedicated to producing eco-friendly disposable duna and tapari made from “Sal” leaves providing a sustainable alternative to plastic products. This project aims to promote environmental conservation through eco-friendly leaf plates/bowls (duna tapari) and create local employment opportunities for marginalized communities, particularly for women.
The Fruit and Pickle Manufacturing sub-project is operated by Aadarsha Samudayik Bikas Samiti and is located in Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality, Ward No. 1, Lumbini, Rupandehi District. Initially, mixed fruit saplings, including mango, litchi, and guava, were planted. The project has been initiated to promote long-term fruit farming and to support future pickle production, contributing to local livelihood improvement and value-added agro-processing.
